Looking back on this past week in Chicago I honestly can’t believe it’s over and that we packed as much as we did into such little time. Our team here at The Hare and Style had to scramble to complete as much shopping and as many photoshoots as we could in two days flat. And let me tell you, as skilled as we are in shopping under pressure we still FOMOed whenever we passed stores we knew would take more than half an hour to browse. It weighs heavy on our hearts, BUT we did succeed in those stores that we did enter such as ZARA, SAKS, NORDSTROM, BURBERRY, and ALLSAINTS. In the coming posts you will get to see what exactly those shopping excursions brought to the table and I cannot wait to share them with you!
For now though, let’s take a walk down Lake Shore Drive and talk with our Menswear Editor, Saif Osman and Personal Stylist, Mir Hussaini. You already met our Menswear editor in his letter, if not you can read it here and heard from our Personal Stylist in his post Sunday, which you can read here. Today, we are digging a little deeper with these guys to get more styling tips and cues from their own habits this wintery season. So take a seat, scroll along, and enjoy!

It’s freezing out today, what are you wearing to brave this weather?
MIR: Wool coat (ZARA), black denim (ALLSAINTS), black leather ankle boots (ALLSAINTS)
SAIF: When in doubt, I usually throw on my classic look, a dressed up setup (outfit) toned down with dark denim and boots to brave the wintery mix outdoors and a rather traditional wool coat to finish the look.
I know Chicago is called the Windy City, but this is pretty crazy. What’s your go-to when it’s cold out like this?
MIR: Turtleneck sweater with a chunky knit scarf under a coat.
SAIF: If it’s not as windy, it generally makes for an excellent photowalk opportunity in the city shrouded in the white blanket of snow.
What are your favorite winter time activities here?
MIR: I Can’t think of anything but shopping, I hate the cold.
There are plenty of Ice skating rinks across the city and the suburbs, other than that, the biggest motivation is to get fit while other opportunities are null, the gym becomes a go to. As of late, I’ve picked up a fascination with the game of pool, and I try to get a lot of practice time honing my skills.
Hot chocolate or coffee?
MIR: Coffee
SAIF: Coffee, any time of the day.
Hands down where can I find you over the weekends?
MIR: At work or at the gym.
SAIF: Home tearing up my computer and trying to reinvent the wheel by fixing something that wasn’t broken to begin with, at the gym or just on my computer killing time.
Favorite winter wear label?
MIR: ALLSAINTS
SAIF: ZARA
Favorite label overall?
MIR: ZARA
SAIF: ZARA. The biggest motivation was simply finding a retail location that fit me. Trust me, it’s harder than you imagine.
What is on rotation in your woredrobe right now?
MIR: Short wool coat
SAIF: For most of this winter I’ve been rotating my jersey blazers, I ended up getting them in all colors available, they’re an excellent piece to dress up, down and layer all the while staying comfortable.
You both work for ZARA, what is on your radar right now that’s in for Spring?
MIR: Trench coat and brown loafers.
SAIF: Honestly, I haven’t taken the time to peek in on the spring trends too much, however, my personal goal has been to blend some casual pieces in my rather dressed up wardrobe and to be able to get some use out of my immense collection of ties that only seem to be gathering dust as of late.
Last question, If you could get The Original HouseBunny to wear one thing, what would it be?
MIR: A waistcoat and a bow tie, definitely.
SAIF: A color block scarf that contrasts his fur. If he allows it to be on him for long.
