“Every day is a fashion show and the world is the runway” – Coco Chanel
Hello Dolls! I am sure you have heard this before to one degree or another but I am here to remind you again! Some of the best things you can do for your beauty do not come from a bottle or a tube. If you can follow these four tips, you will be well on your way to a more beautiful radiant you!
Habits to Embrace:
Sleep – Have you every heard of beauty sleep?
This maybe the most important habit of all and if you can only master one habit on this list, this may be the one to aim for. The function of sleep serves so many purposes for the body, yet we so often skimp on it for one reason or another. We have all been there, where we don’t get enough sleep and we wake up the next morning with dark circles and tired, puffy looking eyes. Moreover, your skin also goes through a restorative process at night, generating new skin cells and replacing older ones. This is the reason you should wash your face before bed and slather on your favorite serums and creams. Also, trying to fit into your favorite skinny jeans? Lack of sleep has been linked to poor appetite control and weight gain. Lovies, do yourself a favor, put down your signature Starbucks latte- at least after a certain hour, turn off that rerun of Keeping up With the Kardashians – and catch some z’s! Your skin and your waistline will thank you for it.
Hydrate – In addition to sleep, hydrating your body is a must.
Water, like food and sleep, is essential to keep the body running optimally. Adequate hydration helps flush toxins and fat out of your system, keeps cellulite in check and helps skin remain soft and supple. When skin is dry, it becomes flaky and red, lips get chapped and may crack and bleed. Dry skin is also more prone to wrinkling. Also, people who are dehydrated confuse thirst and hunger, they often feel hungry when they may just be thirsty. So if you are trying to dazzle in that summer bikini, get to sipping!
Exercise – In addition to the multitude of health benefits, exercise improves blood circulation which is great for skin, hair and nails.
Additional benefits include keeping that fat-storing stress hormone- cortisol – in check, burning off excess fat, helps us in ridding toxins from our body and supports the production of collagen. Also, exercise keeps your muscles toned and tight, making those skinny jeans we talked about earlier just that much more amazing!
Eat Well – Ok, so I am not going to tell you that you can never enjoy your favorite candy or ice cream ever again, but I will say try to eat right and limit your sugar and salt intake.
Empty calories like the ones that come from candy and soda, not only contribute to an ever expanding waistline but they are void of any vitamins and have been shown to actually break down collagen and elastin in skin causing more wrinkles. Yikes! Excess salt can cause your body to retain fluids causing puffiness under your eyes and making you look bloated – not a good look! So trade in that double scoop of chocolate chip cookie dough for a bowl of frozen berries.
Again, if you can’t do all of these, even doing one of these will give you a boost in the beauty department.
Xoxo, Love always- Souher ♥
