NYFW- NOMO SOHO
“Every Year The Women Of New York leave the past behind and look forward for the future. This is known as FASHION WEEK.”
Carrie Bradshaw
Sex And The City
And before we even realized it February’s in full swing and Fashion Week starts in less than 24 hours! Being there for the shows, even if getting in is basically a test of your negotiation skills from the minute tickets become available, and every February is almost a guarantee you’ll have a winter storm to deal with, to sometimes just getting to see the street style game outside the shows is worthwhile. And for the past three years we’ve been doing our best to work to soak in whatever we can! NYFW is always this electric week of excitement, fashion at it’s best, celebrity spotting, exhibits like 29 Rooms, tons of great food, and some of the most exhausting days we’ve spent running around the city trying to take it all in.
This spring, although as creative director of this blog I am heading into the city, I won’t be attending any shows, but I am super excited to be there for a couple days to attend the SIMPLY conference on Saturday and catch whatever streetstyle modeling that’s bound to be happening while roaming around Soho. After taking over a year to revamp the site and only publishing images on Instagram whenever we traveled it’s nice to finally have a place to bring the whole story together again. And Courtney and I will probably find our way to some of our favorite spots in the city, like NOMO SOHO.
That first year that I met up with Courtney it was for the Spring shows and we stayed at NOMO SOHO which has come to be one of my favorite hotels now whenever I visit the city. Soft blue tones and bright whites pan across each suite with mirrored accents throughout, the Kitchen has one of the first collaborations with a hotel by JGoldCrown featuring his Love Wall inside the restaurant which is absolutely instagram worthy, and even in the middle of an ice cold winter the entryway arch offers perfect shots, and don’t underestimate the pull of the cobblestone on Crosby Street.
Soho is just one of those areas in the city that has practically everything you’re looking for during fashion week. Although some of the shows over the years have made their way over to Brooklyn, most are around here and you’ll find some of the best boutiques are around the corner as well as some pretty well adored restaurants too. And we’ll aways give a rec for NOMO SOHO if you’re looking to stay in the area because on top of everything I’ve already listed about the place, the staff is incredible because we ordered fries in the middle of the night …twice…and they didn’t bat an eye. 🤷🏽♀️ I’m just saying, that’s something we’ll always get behind.
