It’s Syracuse Fashion Week and tonight started with the Opening Night Celebration at Small Plates in Armory Square. What a fun show and start to the week! It makes me look forward to the rest of the events, and all the outfits I can put together for each evening’s show.
I am not someone who plans out days in advance what I’m wearing anywhere, but for fashion week I needed to have my outfits planned. So I went over to Paul Karaz Shoes yesterday and went over some ideas with the owners. Paige Karaz has always been a close friend and she went out of her way with hooking me up with some pretty amazing pieces!
The whole look for today centered around my shoes by Anyi Lu, which I obviously bought because 1) look at them, they are this cool twist on Mary Janes and 2) they are blue and 3) they were incredibly comfortable. For someone who always has a pair of driving shoes hidden in my car because by the end of most evenings in heels I’m limping this was just a wonderful alternative.
After the shoes, the purse followed, which is a Dareen Hakim, an exquisite colorblock pattern with gold-plated panels down the sides. Paige has been buying The Dareen Hakim Collection for a while and I have in turn started to build a collection of my own thanks to her supply. Always unique, each purse is a wonderful addition to my growing pile of accessories for nights out.
I paired it all with black harem pants, a black chiffon shell, and a cream blazer with color block sleeves. Paige and I agreed that the blazer and pants were necessary to keep the heels from becoming too “soft” and added just the right amount of edge. And last, but not least our jewelry selection could be no different. Opting for a Alexis Bittar choker, it’s nice to note that as delicate as the chains look the embedded stones within the larger frame give this such a strong and distinctive look.
Actually, I lied because that wasn’t the end of my outfit. I so often paint my nails a neutral pink, but for SFW I didn’t hold back. Taking inspiration from an upcoming Power Couple Post I decided I needed some graffiti in my life if I was going to wear harem pants, so I designed my nails to highlight our blog initials, H&S. Ok, now I promise I’m done!
And after such a fun start to fashion week, I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s shows and showing you guys the next outfit!
Xo,
Maliha
